From squares and rectangles to dodecagons and even three-dimensional coins, countries around the world mint strangely shaped coins. Some of them even look like countries! On the Horn of Africa in the eastern part of the continent, the country of SOMALIA issued year 2013 $1 coins in the shapes of Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Russia, and the United States of America.
Since 2012, AUSTRALIA has produced an ever-growing series of Australia-shaped silver coins in a $1 denomination. They are produced by the world-renown Perth Mint and commemorate animals and birds.
A country in the Pyrenees, a mountain chain stretching across Western Europe at the opening of the Iberian Peninsula, ANDORRA now has silver coins with its tiny shape; these are denominated as 10 Diners.
If you come across other coins that are shaped like countries, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know with a comment below!
