    Bolivia 100 Bolivianos Banknote

    Bolivia 100 Bolivianos banknote

A mountainous landlocked country in west-central South America, BOLIVIA uses the Bolivian Boliviano (ISO 4217 currency code: BOB) as its currency. Each Boliviano equals 100 centavos. The image above shows a 100 Bolivianos (Cien Bolivianos) banknote issued by the Central Bank of Bolivia, dated November 28, 1986 ("del 28 de Noviembre de 1986"). It features Gabriel René Moreno del Rivero, who was a historian, literary critic, educator, and bibliographer living from the 1830s to the early twentieth century. The reverse shows San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca University, with Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca inscribed above the building. The 100 Bolivianos note features brilliant red hues as easily shown above. The 20 Bolivianos banknote is similar in its vibrancy, but features orange hues rather than red ones.

    Geography
Bolivia is one of two landlocked countries in South America; the other one is Paraguay. However, Bolivia was not always landlocked. In the late nineteenth century, the country lost its coastal portions to Chile in the War of the Pacific (Guerra del Pacífico). Unlike most countries in the world, Bolivia has two capitals. La Paz, the administrative capital of Bolivia, sits in the Andes Mountains over 12,000 feet high above sea level. Therefore, La Paz is known as the world's highest capital in elevation! Meanwhile, Sucre is the constitutional capital. Bolivia is surrounded by Argentina to the south, Brazil to the northeast, Chile to the southwest, Paraguay to the southeast, and Peru to the west.
