    Maps on Seychelles Rupee Banknotes

With dozens of small islands in the Indian Ocean, the SEYCHELLES is an island country located east of the African continent and Tanzania and north of Madagascar. Subdivided into 100 cents, the Seychellois Rupee is the national currency and has an ISO 4217 currency code of SCR. Every Seychellois Rupee banknote denomination (10, 25, 50, 100, 500 Rupees) from 1998 to present contains miniature maps of Mahé island and smaller surrounding islands, such as Cerf and Saint Anne. Mahé is the Seychelles' main island and location of the national capital, Victoria. All of the aforementioned 1998-to-present banknotes have a coat of arms in the top left above the map, and native plants and animals colorize the banknotes' surfaces.
