I have 2 banknotes from BANGLADESH, where the currency is the Bangladeshi Taka. Bangladesh is a small, overpopulated country bordering India and the Bay of Bengal; its capital is Dhaka. The two banknotes in my gatherings are the 1 Taka from the year 1972 and the 5 Taka from the year 1978.
    What's On the Money?
1 Taka: This note, which has no watermark, contains an image of Bangladesh in a circle with the denomination next to it. The reverse shows the Bangladeshi number 1 laying on top of an ornate design. This note is not very colorful, but is very detailed.
5 Taka: A tiger is the watermark in this note. The obverse depicts water lilies in the center and a famous mosque to the right. There is a factory and a sailboat on the reverse.

How can I buy this currency?

Hello, and thanks for commenting! If there is a local store in your area selling currency from around the world, I highly recommend going there. You never know what goodies you may find - possibly even Bangladeshi banknotes! Also, plenty of online sources offer these and similar banknotes for sale. I bought mine from Allen's, Inc. This company is based in Ohio, USA, and I highly recommend buying from them especially if you live in the USA. Their store website is http://store.nexternal.com/allens/bangladesh-c1003.aspx. It appears that the years of my banknotes are not available, but similar ones are. Hope that helps!
