    Eritrea Coins with Flags

The previous post highlighted many coins that have flags on them. ERITREA, an East African country that gained independence in 1991, has the Eritrean flag on its circulation coinage. These coins are the 1 cent and 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 Cents. In Eritrea, 100 Cents equal 1 Nafka. All of the aforementioned coins share the same obverse, which has the words Liberty, Equality, and Justice across the top and a large 1991 in the center to signify the year of independence. The soldiers located near the flag symbolize the struggles and war that the Eritrean people went through to achieve independence.
